A Story about Chaos, Kindness, and Noticing what Matters
Momo and the Very Bad Idea is a playful story about big feelings, bold ideas, and the unexpected beauty of slowing down.
Momo moves through her neighborhood with confidence, curiosity, and just enough chaos to turn an ordinary day upside down. She wants to improve everything. She wants to help. She wants to make things brighter, faster, better. But somewhere between the mess, the laughter, and the pancakes, she begins to discover something quieter and more meaningful.
This story is about more than one funny bad idea.
It is about noticing the people around us.
It is about the warmth of community.
It is about taking a breath long enough to see the small things that matter, patience, kindness, second chances, and the quiet love that lives in everyday moments.
Two of the most important symbols in the story are the black cat and the crow.
The black cat represents the watchful, skeptical side of life. He is unimpressed, cautious, and emotionally guarded. He sees the mess. He sees the mistakes. He is the little voice that says, this is not going well. But he also stays. He remains present through all of Momo’s chaos, which makes him a symbol of loyalty, honesty, and the kind of love that does not always look soft on the outside. He is grumpy, but he never truly leaves her world.
The crow represents awareness, observation, and tension. Crows are intelligent, alert, and always paying attention. In Momo’s story, the crow becomes a symbol of the world watching her the unexpected challenge, the moment of confrontation, the reminder that not everything can be controlled. But the crow is not there just to threaten the peace. It is also there to sharpen Momo’s awareness. It helps turn her outward, forcing her to notice more, react more thoughtfully, and become more present.
Together, the black cat and the crow reflect two different truths:
one grounded and close,
one watchful and distant.
One is the emotional world beside us.
The other is the wider world around us.
And Momo stands between them learning, failing, laughing, and slowly beginning to understand that life is not always about fixing everything. Sometimes it is about paying attention. Sometimes it is about accepting the mess. Sometimes it is about appreciating who is still there with you at the end of the day.
In a world that often rushes past the beautiful ordinary, Momo and the Very Bad Idea reminds us that not every moment needs improving. Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do is slow down and appreciate what and who is already around us.
